RISD Wintersession Travel Courses 2020
LIMITED AVAILABILITY. Application opens in September. Registration opens in October.
All RISD and Brown University students are invited to apply for Wintersession 2020 Travel Courses. To be eligible to apply for a Wintersession Travel Course you must first attend one of the course infosessions held on campus in September/early October, have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 at the time of application, and be in good standing at RISD, in terms of conduct and finances.
**We recommend that you reach out to Student Financial Services early on in the application process to ensure your account is in good standing. The time frame for travel payment is very short and extensions due to outstanding student account balances will not be possible.**
RISD Global will hold a General Infosession for all Wintersession Travel Courses in September, during which all faculty will give a brief overview of their courses, and will provide their specific infosession dates.
After the General Infosession, two course-specific infosessions will be held by faculty for each course between September and early October. During these infosessions, faculty will explain the application process, as well as their selection criteria. All infosession dates will be listed on the RISD Global website and promoted through posters on campus. Once you have attended either the General Infosession or the course-specific infosession with faculty, you are invited to apply via the online application portal for ONE travel course of your choice.
The online application portal will open in September.
To participate in the course, your application must be selected by the course faculty. You will receive confirmation if you are accepted, waitlisted, or denied, as well as your scholarship assignments (if applicable) at the end of the registration period. If you are selected for a Wintersession Travel Course, you will be required to make payment in full. If the payment is not made by the deadline, your place will be offered to a waitlisted student.
